Sushma Swaraj’s educational background

Sushma Swaraj completed her graduation from Sanatan Dharma College of Ambala Cantonment and got her bachelor’s degree with honours in Political Science and Sanskrit. Then, she did a degree course in LLB from the Department of Laws of the Punjab University in Chandigarh. In 1970, she received the best student award from SD College, Ambala Cantonment. Sushma had also won the title of the best cadet of NCC at SD College for three years in a row. For three consecutive years, she won the best Hindi speaker award, a state-level competition held by the Language Department of Haryana. She was declared the best speaker in Hindi of Punjab University in the AC Bali Memorial declamation contest and awarded the university colour there. Sushma Swaraj was excellent in her extracurricular activities. She received several awards of distinction in debates, rhetoric contests, recitations, dramas and other cultural activities. Apart from being a keen reader of poetry and literature, she also took interest in classical music, poetry, fine arts and drama.
